Régénération

Dans la vision du monde actuellement véhiculée par la société, l’être humain se situe au-dessus de la nature, l’âme n’existe pas, le corps est réduit à une “mécanique” et la conscience est produite par le cerveau. Cette humanité là ressent le besoin d’être améliorée par des machines et prend le risque d’en devenir esclave.

Ces dernières années, des études scientifiques ont dépassé cette pensée “matérialiste” en explorant l’hypothèse que la conscience pouvait être un champ d’informations existant au-delà du corps, que nous percevons à travers notre cerveau, ce qui éclairerait bien des mystères entourant le potentiel humain.

Dans de nombreuses cultures, le chamanisme partage cette vision, mais surtout, replace l’humain comme un élément parmi d’autres au sein d’une Nature dont il est l’hôte, et non le maître.

Pour rétablir cet équilibre, mon point de vue d’artiste et de Hexe* ne saurait se passer d’un corps relié aux éléments et à des gestes rudimentaires faits avec les mains : modeler, feutrer, être en contact avec l’organique, le végétal, le fongique, l’animal… En effet, c’est dans ma vie que je puise la matière première de mes œuvres : ma terre (l’Alsace), ses forêts profondes (bois mort, crânes d’animaux, champignons…), mes racines et ancêtres (culture germanique), mon corps (féminin).

Ma vision est celle d’un éternel retour, cycle de régénération et d’expansion de la conscience, au contact du vivant.

J’étudie et pratique le chamanisme depuis une quinzaine d’années. En intégrant aujourd’hui cette dimension dans la pratique artistique moderne, je me suis donnée pour mission de faire revivre ce savoir fondamental et oublié. Il ne s’agit pas d’une nostalgie de nos origines, mais d’une fusion qui donne naissance à une grande force de transformation.

Mon dispositif permet l’émergence de forces élémentaires qui dialoguent et habitent mes œuvres. Cet Art est transformateur, catalyseur d’un processus de guérison individuelle et collective. C’est un Art élargi, revitalisé, chamanique.

*Hexe vient du mot Allemand “Hecke” “haie”, traduit communément par “sorcière”, car ces guérisseuses habitaient en lisière de forêt, pour accéder aux plantes sauvages et avaient un statut à part.

Regeneration

In the worldview currently promoted by society, human beings are placed above nature, the soul does not exist, the body is reduced to a ‘mechanism’, and consciousness is produced by the brain. This view of humanity feels the need to be enhanced by machines and runs the risk of becoming enslaved by them.

In recent years, scientific studies have sought to move beyond this ‘materialist’ way of thinking by exploring the hypothesis that consciousness might be a field of information existing beyond the body, which we perceive through our brains ; this would explain many of the mysteries surrounding human potential.

In different cultures, shamanism shares this view, but above all, it re-establishes humankind as one element amongst others within Nature, of which we are the guests, not the masters.

To restore this balance, my perspective as an artist and as a Hexe* cannot do without a body connected to the elements and to rudimentary gestures made with the hands : modelling, felting, being in contact with the organic, the plant world, the fungal realm, the animal kingdom… Indeed, it is from my own life that I draw the raw material for my works: my homeland (Alsace), its deep forests (dead wood, animal skulls, mushrooms…), my roots and ancestors (the Germanic culture), my body (the feminine).

My vision is that of an eternal return, a cycle of regeneration and expansion of consciousness, through contact with living things.

I have been studying and practising shamanism for around fifteen years. By now integrating this dimension into modern artistic practice, I have set myself the task of reviving this fundamental yet forgotten knowledge. This is not a matter of nostalgia for our origins, but of a fusion that gives rise to a great force of transformation.

My artistic approach allows elemental forces to emerge; these forces interact and inhabit my works. This art is transformative, acting as a catalyst for a process of individual and collective healing. It is an expanded, revitalised, shamanic art.

*Hexe comes from the German word ‘Hecke’ (“hedge”), commonly translated as ‘witch’, as these healers lived on the edge of the forest to gain access to wild plants and held a special status.
